First Community Interfaith Institute Inc. is...
a teaching church/spiritual and cultural organization that stresses the concept of DOOLOGY.
What is DOOLOGY?
A concept developed by our National Minister, Lawrance Lee Evans Sr. in 1970, that emphasizes the importance of African people working collectively to change the communities in which they live. Action is far more important than verbalizing the problems facing people of African descent. Doology is shown by our sponsorship of the AAFRO festival, celebration of our own holidays (e.g., Uhuru Week in honor of Marcus Garvey in August, Kwanzaa in December, and Legacy Day in June) and our promotion of education.
Doology, according to Minister Lawrance Evans Sr. , "...makes and looks for the excellence in the historically good actions of African people." Doology has nine basic characteristics: Pay, Labor, Association, Time, Effort, Attitude, Nurture, Energy and Win (PLATE ANEW).
